The Forgotten Main Street Free Art Drop is taking a little turn — and around here, we already know there are No Wrong Turns.

Instead of simply announcing where the next Oklahoma Art Drop is located, Dixie is going to make you work for it just a little.

Every other week or so, a few FMS prints will be dropped somewhere around the Oklahoma City metro and surrounding backroads. Then we’ll post a handful of photographs and clues on social media to help you figure out where they might be hiding.

Think of it as part scavenger hunt, part geocaching, part photography adventure.

But here’s the important part:

Finding the print isn’t really the point. Getting out and exploring is.

Maybe you decipher the clues and find one of the free matted art pages waiting for you. Maybe somebody beats you there. Maybe you make a completely wrong turn and never get anywhere close.

That’s okay.

Take your camera. Take your phone. Take the family. Grab a cup of coffee and go wander around somewhere you haven’t explored before. Photograph an old building, a faded sign, a rusty truck, a forgotten stretch of highway, or whatever catches your eye.-

You may not come home with a slice of FMS goodness

You might come home with a photograph of your own, a new favorite road, a good story, or a place you never knew existed.

And that sounds like a pretty successful Art Drop to us.

So keep an eye on our social media for the next clues.

Then get out there and go.
